This stormy work balances virtuosity, elegance, and character acting. Like the Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms, we encounter several moods within a short span of time. The player is encouraged to discover and then communicate the essence of the mood of each phrase/section. Be sure to account for balance between the hands so that the melody is always clear!
