Traveling along the winding dirt road, we imagine the gold miners who dug the tunnels that allow us to traverse these majestic mountains, gazing at stunning vistas and rock formations. Did they take the time to look around and recognize the priceless beauty that surrounded them? The elevation climbs, and as we near 10,000 feet we feel a sense of lightness. Perhaps it's the air, but we feel like we could fly. As we make our way back down, we are treated to the most beautiful golden sunset and the entire landscape is bathed in a golden hue.
