Irish stepdance is characterized by fast and precise movements of the feet (to this casual observer: a cross between tap and ballet, with some high kicks!) while keeping a rather still upper body. The Celtic music that accompanies it is performed by a small ensemble of traditional instruments, including fiddle, tin whistle, flute, uilleann pipes, harp, and drums. As you play, determine if your fingers are the musicians (is your right hand the fiddler and the left hand the drums?) or the dancers! Strive for a balance of control and energy in this fun piece!
